Lloyd Alaban ('18) is currently a copywriter for the PR/Communications team at Santa Clara Family Health Plan. He was previously the city hall, government, and politics reporter for San José Spotlight, and freelanced for San Jose Inside and The Milpitas Beat. He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from UC Santa Cruz in 2011 and a master's degree in mass communications at San José State University in 2018. Having previously served as FAN's secretary, Lloyd is interested in learning more about local FilAm community groups and their impact on residents.

Lloyd has covered numerous issues as a journalist, including health care, local businesses, housing, homelessness, and local government. He is passionate about local news and its ability to shed light on underprivileged communities. In his spare time, he likes playing anything related to trivia (especially watching Jeopardy!), running, drinking beer, reading, and playing with his Siberian Husky.
