FILIPINO ALUMNI NETWORK SJSU
About Us
Founded in July 2021, the Filipino Alumni Network (FAN) strives to connect and empower SJSU Filipinx alumni, students, and allies alike. We reinforce this pipeline by offering our members a space for social, cultural, and professional connection beyond the SJSU experience. Our team works diligently to ensure that our members have access to professional development and networking opportunities with fellow alumni across sectors.

Joseph Ilos Scholarship Fund
FAN strives to create a space for Filipinx Spartans in which they can celebrate their own cultural identity while thriving in their own professional development. We carry out this mission through a variety of networking events, thoughtful career guidance, and unique mentorship opportunities. FAN’s Scholarship Fund, also known as the Joseph Ilos Scholarship Fund, works to instill SJSU pride and encourages recipients to engage in extracurricular development opportunities in their local community.
The Joseph Ilos Scholarship Fund supports Filipinx Spartans, regardless of their economic background or financial hardship, best achieve their goals towards higher education and professional success. We at FAN continue to advance our mission of uplifting the next generation of Filipinx leaders from San José State University.
This year we have set an ambitious goal of $10K in hopes of doubling our scholarship offerings for the 2025-2026 academic year. In other words, if we achieve our $10K fundraising goal, we will unlock a second annual scholarship offered to students each year. Your generous contribution goes a long way in sustaining this needed resource for our rising Filipinx scholars.
