Alan Gouig ('19)
Founder & President
Alan Gouig is a dedicated community advocate and grassroots organizer based in Downtown San Jose, passionately exploring the civic sector through his Asian Pacific Islander (API) identity. Previously, he served as the policy and advocacy associate at the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits (SVCN), focusing on coalition building with nonprofits across Santa Clara County, and as a Civic Engagement Organizer with LEAD Filipino. Today, he remains a proud alum of both New Leaders Council Silicon Valley (NLC-SV) and the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute (APALI).
Alan’s impact at SJSU is furthered by his current role on the University’s Special Events Team as an assistant event planner, and in his service as the Founder and President of SJSU’s Filipino Alumni Network (FAN). He hopes that FAN will offer a valuable space to highlight Filipinx achievement, celebrate cultural identity, and cultivate a sense of collective power. Alan’s efforts reflect his belief in the transformative potential of mentorship and collaboration, ensuring that Filipinx leaders are well-supported for generations to come.
