Mary Cheryl B. Gloner

Spartan Luminary Award Recipient

For over 25 years, Ms. Gloner embarked on a professional path committed to health equity by addressing the priorities of vulnerable populations and building community capacity. Ms. Gloner’s career focused on community health education and promotion, research, health communication, policy, advocacy, training, and administration. Currently, she serves as CEO for Project Safety Net, a collective impact organization dedicated to youth resiliency, mental health promotion, and suicide prevention. In recent years, she’s served as adjunct faculty for SJSU, as well as guest lectured for DeAnza Junior College, Stanford University School of Medicine, and various local high schools. She also consults on nonprofit management, health education, and community capacity building projects

Ms. Gloner’s deep community impact is one that’s world renowned, ranging from her 2018 recognition in London by the Filipina Women’s Network as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World” (Global FWN100); her 2017 Excellence in Healthcare Award by the Silicon Valley Business Journal; and her 2024 Lourie Campos Coallier Community Health Advocate Award by Stanford’s Medicine Office of Community Health.

Ms. Gloner is a first generation college graduate with a Bachelors in Combined Sciences from Santa Clara University, a MPH from San Jose State University, and a MBA from UC Berkeley.
